Rocket Solid fuel

A solid fuel rocket is a rocket that gets it power from solid propellants. Though the ingredients of solid fuel of model rocket are starkly different from the ingredients used in making solid fuel for space rocket, there is some basic resemblance in them. The resemblance is that the purpose of both the fuels to help a rocket to fly or to provide a continuous source of energy. In the past solid fuel was formed by using gunpowder but things have changed starkly since then. Solid fuel is no longer used in space rocket as they are associated a number of hazards. However, rocket solid fuel is now widely used in model rockets as they offer a number of benefits to the users.

One of the major advantages of rocket solid fuel is that they can be stored for a long period of time as compared to liquid fuel. Furthermore, they are famed for their reliability and simplicity. You can gather more information about rocket solid fuel by searching in the Internet. You should read some scholarly articles for this purpose, which will definitely help you to form a basic concept about it.

How to make a rocket

Everyone cherishes an ambition of doing something out of the box, something unique. People love to fantasize about traveling in far of lands, voyaging in remote part of the sea, flying in the sky. However, these are all fantasies. However, if you really want to do something concrete, something that you can actualize. You will not have to have to take any drastic decision. Just learn about how to make a rocket that will be sufficient for you to materialize your dream. You have to gather some rocket parts before start building a rocket:
  • Glue
  • Pieces of Cardboards for preparing rocket fins
  • Model rocket engine
  • A tube
If you are planning for a large rocket, you have to opt for a large tube. A large sized rocket can decrease maximum altitude but it can increase stability of your rocket substantially. Furthermore, larger rockets also need larger fins. After cutting a tube to the required length, you have to clean its ends with much care. After that, you have to prepare the fins of your rocket. Cardboard can be used for this purpose as it is strong and at the same time thin. Fins should be one third of the total length of the rocket.

Apply glue on the fins for attaching them with the body section of your rocket. After that, insert the rocket engine in rocket’s bottom section. A nose cone should be placed at the top of the rocket. Now, your rocket is ready for launch.

Model Rocket Engines: Their Functionality

For propelling forward, a fuel grain is used by almost all the model rocket engines. When the grain of the rocket engine touches the igniter, flames begins to emerge. This flame generates the energy, which helps a model rocket to fly. Gradually, the surface area begins to burn and it gradually increases towards the rocket engine casing. The rate of burning and thrust increases simultaneously, as the area of burning surface increases. The rate of thrust and burn reaches the extreme point when fuel of the rocket remains inside the diameter of rocket engine casing. Some rocket engines have spikes at the initial stage if they have end burning configuration. This configuration comes in handy when a rocket takes off from to ground and tries to speed up. Until the fuel of a model rocket engine is exhausted, burn area lowers into a lower thrust level.

The functionality of model rocket engine is a complex procedure. However, you can still enjoy rocketry without having a fair knowledge of it. You just need to have the passion and nothing else and you will experience that you are flying rocket and enjoying the blithe of freedom.
